SUPPORT STRATEGY SESSION
You know the current way of working can’t continue. You’re just not sure what needs to change.
Maybe you need another person. Maybe your current support is no longer working. Maybe the real problem is your processes, your boundaries, your workload – or the number of decisions that still depend on you.
You don’t need to diagnose it alone.
In a 90 minute Support Strategy Session, we’ll step back, look at the whole support picture and work out what would genuinely help your business now.
You don’t need another generic answer. You need to understand your business.
You may have already searched for a VA, downloaded a delegation checklist, trialled another system or tried to create a perfectly organised list of everything you do.
And yet, you’re still asking:
- What can I actually hand over?
- Why does everything still come back to me?
- Do I need another person – or do I need to change the work first?
- Is my current support the wrong fit, or is the role unclear?
- What level of support can the business realistically afford?
- How do I create breathing room without creating another person to manage?
- What happens if my capacity changes again?
These are not task-list questions. They are support decisions.
That is what this session is designed to help you make.
Support evolves as your business evolves.
The loudest problem isn’t always the real one.
When everything feels urgent, the obvious answer is usually to get more help.
Sometimes that is exactly what the business needs.
But adding another person to unclear responsibilities, inconsistent processes or expectations that have never been spoken aloud can create more work – not less.
The pressure may be coming from:
-
work that should no longer be done at all
-
decisions only you are allowed to make
-
tasks that can be delegated but have never been properly defined
-
the wrong level or type of support
-
communication and follow-through gaps
-
a support relationship that the business has outgrown
-
systems that do not match how the work really happens
-
a business model demanding more capacity than you have available
The point of the session is not to force everything into a delegation plan.
It is to find the real pressure point before you spend more time, money or energy solving the wrong problem.
What the session is
A focused conversation about the business as it actually exists.
This is a 90 minute one-to-one working session – not a discovery call and not a generic business consultation.
You can arrive with a clear question, a half-formed concern or twelve tabs open in your brain. My job is to listen, ask the questions that help us see the pattern, and turn what is currently tangled together into practical decisions.
We’ll look at four areas.
- What you’re carrying
- Where the pressure is building
- What needs to stay, change, stop or move
- What support makes sense next
Not only the tasks. We’ll look at the decisions, follow-up, emotional load, invisible responsibilities and things that live in your head because nobody else knows they exist.
We’ll identify what is draining time and capacity, what keeps being delayed, what relies too heavily on you and where existing support or systems are no longer enough.
Not everything should be delegated. Some work needs your judgement. Some can be simplified, automated, handed over or removed entirely. We’ll decide which is which.
That may be a VA, employee, specialist, better use of current support, project help, clearer boundaries, a change to the work itself – or no new hire at all.
There is no predetermined answer to reach.
You’ll leave knowing what to do next – and why.
Your session includes:
- A personalised Capacity Map showing where your available time, energy and attention are going
- A practical Support Roadmap setting out the most useful next moves and their order
- clarity about what genuinely needs you and what does not
- a clearer definition of the support or role required, if another person is the right answer
- risks, gaps or expectations to address before you delegate
- priorities shaped around your actual capacity and financial reality
- an independent perspective from someone who understands both business ownership and the support-provider side of the relationship
The goal is not to leave you with a longer list.
It is to stop the circling and give you a direction you can act on.
Who this is, and isn't, for.
This session is likely to help if:
- the business still depends on you to remember, decide and follow up on everything
- you feel busy but not meaningfully supported
- you know you need help but cannot work out what kind
- your current support is capable, but the relationship or role is not working as expected
- you have hired before and want to understand what went wrong before trying again
- you are considering a VA, employee, contractor or specialist and want clarity before committing
- your business or personal capacity has changed and your old way of working no longer fits
- you need an experienced person to help you think – not another template telling you what to do
You do not need to arrive organised.
You do need to be willing to look honestly at what is happening and make decisions about what changes next.
This is probably not the right session if:
-
you already know the exact role you need and only want help finding suitable people – start with Support Connection instead
-
you need someone to begin completing tasks immediately – explore Business Operations Support
-
you are looking for a software, workflow or automation build
-
you want a full business, marketing or financial strategy
-
you want reassurance for a decision you have already made rather than an honest assessment
-
you are not currently in a position to make any changes after the session
This is a decision-making service. It works best when you are ready to use the clarity it creates.
Your Investment – $247 AUD
Investment: $247 AUD

One unclear hire, mismatched contractor or poorly defined role can cost considerably more than this session – in money, time and trust.
This is the work that helps you make the next investment with your eyes open.
What happens next?
The session gives you a direction. What follows depends on the answer.
For some business owners, the Capacity Map and Support Roadmap are enough. They make the changes themselves and return later when the business reaches another season.
For others, the session identifies where further help would be useful. That may include:
-
Support Connection to clarify and connect you with the right type of support professional
-
Business Operations Support when you need an experienced person to step into the business
-
a referral to a trusted specialist whose expertise better matches the problem
-
a follow-up Strategy Session as the business, team or your capacity changes
-
deciding that hiring is not the right move yet
There is no pressure to purchase another service from me.
The value of the session is the decision – not where you buy the next piece of support.
I understand support from both sides of the working relationship.
I’m Amber Field, a Business Support Strategist with more than twenty years of experience across executive support, operations, customer and member experience, recruitment, administration, retail leadership and community building.
I’ve been the person inside the business carrying the invisible work. I’ve been the support professional expected to make sense of a role that was never clearly defined. And I’ve been the business owner trying to work out what to keep, what to hand over and how to do that without making somebody else responsible for the chaos.
That combination matters.
I’m not assessing support only from the business owner’s point of view. I’m looking at what will be workable, ethical and sustainable for everybody involved.
I won’t automatically tell you to hire. I also won’t pretend better boundaries can solve a workload that genuinely needs another person.
We’ll look at what is true, then decide from there.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to prepare anything?
You do not need to arrive with a perfect task list or a polished explanation. Bring any information you already have and the questions or pressure points taking up the most room in your head. The session is designed to help organise the picture with you.
Do I have to be ready to hire?
No. The purpose is to determine what support makes sense. The most useful answer may be to hire, use current support differently, change a process, strengthen an expectation, remove work or wait.
Can we review an existing VA or support relationship?
Yes. We can look at the role, responsibilities, communication, boundaries and the gaps between what the business needs and what the current arrangement provides. This is not about blaming either person. It is about understanding what is not working and what needs to change.
Is this only about delegation?
No. Delegation may be part of the answer, but the session looks at the broader support picture: capacity, workload, responsibilities, people, processes, technology, boundaries and business realities.
Will you tell me exactly who I need to hire?
If another person is the right answer, we will clarify the type and level of support the work requires. If you want help finding suitable people after that, Support Connection is available separately.
Can I book another session later?
Yes. Support needs change as businesses, responsibilities and capacity change. A 60-minute follow-up session is available for $197 when you need to review or adjust the roadmap.
You don’t have to keep going around in circles.
You do not need to know whether the answer is a VA, a better boundary, a new process, less work or something else entirely.
You only need to know the current way is not working.
We’ll work out the next right move together.
