Real stories from real business owners doing the work behind the scenes.
This series shines a light on the people holding it all together – the creatives, strategists, service providers, and operators who are building businesses with heart, boundaries, and a whole lot of figuring-it-out-as-they-go.
You’ll find honest reflections, delegation lessons, capacity wins (and misses), and a look at what it really takes to keep a small business running sustainably – without the gloss.

When you think ‘support’ I bet your brain doesn’t instantly take you to your health – as a business owner you go somewhere like team members or a coach. But in all honesty, receiving support covers so. many. aspects. of your life, and your health and wellbeing team are a HUGE part of you remaining a well-being to keep your business sustainable.

If you are ready for support in this area of your life, Belinda is an incredibly down to earth human with a monstrous heart. You can connect with her at all the links below.

I support children and families dealing with eczema to address the underlying causes and drivers of the condition to get long lasting relief – not just mask the symptoms with creams.
What do people think your work looks like – and what does it actually involve most days?
Most people would think that I’m seeing clients all day – and while that’s obviously a big part, I spend an equal amount of time on the dozens of other tasks it takes to run a business. Admin, accounts, research and training, social media content, business development and so much more.
What does “being supported” look like in your business right now?
Over the past year or so I have brought on more support in the form of administration and the running of my calendar, invoicing, client contact, some social media support and a bookkeeper. These are some of the tasks that take up a lot of time for me because they aren’t my area of expertise and were taking away from me being more available to excel at my actual job!
What’s something you’ve delegated (or are considering delegating) – and what made you decide it was time?
This might seem basic, but I purchased a clothes dryer and a robot vacuum. These are time saving day to day when I don’t have the time to be hanging clothes and keeping on top of the constant mess that a family makes. Bringing on a bookkeeper was also life changing because I realised how much time that was taking up because I didn’t know what I was doing and the relatively small cost of passing this task on, gave me back time, but also bandwidth.
How do you manage your capacity – or at least try to keep things workable during busy seasons?
Hiring support in my business and my husband. My assistant and I are always trying to implement strategies to keep things running smoothly even in busier times and my husband is always willing to take on more than his share to help out when its needed.
Are there any boundaries or non-negotiables in your business that have made a real difference?
Not checking messages on weekends! Once you’ve seen a work message, you’ll have it in the back of your mind until it’s dealt with. Not looking at any business-related messages in my time off is a game changer.
What would you tell another small business owner who’s struggling to hand something over or make space for support?
The universe will give you what you can handle – if you don’t have the bandwidth for more work because you’re overloaded with the dozens of tasks it takes to run a business – you will become stuck. When you pass some of this on, you’ll be ready for more of what you really enjoy doing and what you’re good at.
What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself through running your business?
How much I’m actually capable of and my resilience. Business is not for the faint hearted, that’s for sure!
And now – some rapid fire Q’s ♥
Work soundtrack: silence, Spotify, or background chaos?
Spotify or silence if I really need to think.
Biggest distraction when working from home?
Everything – it’s why I rent a clinic space so I can actually get work done!
Best time of day to get work done?
Afternoon – evening. Although that doesn’t really work with family life, it’s my most productive time.
Go to snack..
I’m not a snacker really – but I’m up for a Banh Mi just about any time of day 🙂
